Hi,
I was using Demo Data Creator to test BuddyPress on my site and after I clicked "delete" the demo data, it deleted all my data(post, users and so on..)
I really do not have any other information...
Please test it and see if you could recreate the problem.
other than that, everybody should backup there database before deleting there demo data.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/demo-data-creator/
There are clear warnings on the plugin that it deletes ALL data, and should NEVER be used on a live site.

I see...
My understanding was that will delete only the demo data, and leave what I have created.
I will know for the next time.

Couldn't you tweak a function to simply select all users with the demo email addresses and delete all data based on that?
Does it also delete all plugins and themes?

In my scenario, this is a fresh WordPress / BuddyPress install and I only have custom plugins and theme options.
To address this issue, can I use this to remove the data instead?
1. use phpMyAdmin to EMPTY all BuddyPress-related tables
2. Use the Users area (/wp-admin/users.php) to bulk delete the fake users?
Will the above effectively remove all demo content on an unused Buddy Press installation?

There is no "CLEAR" warning that it will delete ALL of your stuff. It only says that it will delete all demo-data. My whole wpmu site is messed up from using this plugin. I spent hours creating sites and every single one of them is gone because this plugin deleted them all. This plugin was only enabled for one of the websites_ a brand new/undeveloped website; and yet it managed to delete every single website in my wpmu network except the top-level website itself. I have to pay $15 to have my hosting company restore my website. Hope my brain does not forget to never use the plugin again. Sorry if I sound harsh, but you can imagine how pissed off that I am_ at least 25 websites were deleted because of this plugin. And none of them had this plugin enabled/activated.
