DB Toolkit
Why can't I search? (6 posts)

I created an application that accesses a table in the database, which shows fine but when I go to use the Search functionality it always returns an empty list. Also, after I click on the Search/Filter button the filter toolbar and search field disappear.

Is there anyway around this? Am I doing something wrong?

This app is so close to what I want, but not having this feature work is critical. Any help would be great.

    Thanks,
    Brian Hannan

for retrieving a single result, you apply the selected item filter fieldtype to the field that is unique. Usually the ID field.

just search on the dbtoolkit forum for selected item filter. there is a lot on the topic.

    Hi,
I need a relational database that has a free members section, storing a number of different fields, and another section for suppliers, storing a range of fields. The suppliers can register for free, but must pay (PayPal) to access and search the members section for specific data, ie. town, etc. (max 4)

Can I buy a ready made installation, or must I create this myself?

    Regards
    Drachsi

    Hi There,

You'll have to make one yourself. I don't have a library of ready made apps, although I do plan to have.

For what you ask, it should be fairly easy. Your best start would be setting up a paid member site. s2 member is a great plugin for that http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/s2member/

You'll then look at building the different databases for towns, suppliers etc.

    hope that helps.
