I am getting an IP # 127.255.255.255 for some of my human visitors. It throws off the stats by counting each hit as a unique visitor. I checked the IP and it is some kind of loopback. Help, I need my stats to be correct.

Posted 2 years ago #my server had some slowdown today, then went offline for a few minutes, once it was back I was getting the same IP address, I found this which may give you your answer and solution: http://haveamint.com/forum/troubleshooting/878/heavy_presence_of_127_255_255_255
Their cause was due to a server upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit, I haven't had a chance to check if my server was upgraded, but will report back.
