   Was very excited to create my custom post, add it to a particular category & then use it in the Random Post widget (using that particular category) . . . everything was a go but nope, nada.

   Any ideas?

   Almost. My WP experience for most everything ;)

   Must you add a code somewhere to get these posts displaying via widgets?
