Custom Post Types UI automatically generates the register_post_type code for functions.php, but what happens if you drop that code in once you have your custom post type(s) and taxonomies set up through the plugin? I need to go with the code instead of the plugin in order to set up custom roles and capabilities (at least, that’s what it seems like).

Figured it out. Nothing bad happens. Just add the code to functions.php then go back and delete the custom post type and taxonomies set up with the plugin. All content created is preserved.

I tried, too, but have an issue, decribed in
    this post

    Any idea really apreciated

    Thanks!
