    Plugin:
    Custom Permalinks
    Plugin Site:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-permalinks

    Hello,

I don't know if my issue is a feature request or bug that would nice to be solved to make this plugin really great!

Steps taken (for testing) -> no issue:
    1. created a page named 'Parent' (no parent)
    2. after publishing this page the permalink will be automatically <site>/parent
    3. created a page name ParentChild1 (parent 'Parent')
    4. after publishing this page the permalink will be automatically <site>/parent/parentchild1

Steps taken (for testing) -> found bug / feature request:

    1. changed the permalink of page 'Parent' to <site>/parentnew
    2. opened the child page 'ParentChild1', the permalink op this page still is <site>/parent/parentchild1

It would be very handy to automatically change the permalinks on the child pages with the changes made on the parent page.
So in this example it would be handy if the child page 'ParentChild1' automatically got the permalink <site>/parentnew/parentchild1

Steps taken (for testing) -> found bug / feature request:

    1. deleted the page 'Parent'
    2. created a page named 'Parent' (again)
    3. after publishing this page the permalink will automatically <site>/parent-2 (old permalinks are stored/cached and not used again?)
    4. changed the permalink of page 'Parent' to <site>/parent
    5. created a page name ParentChild2 (parent 'Parent')
    4. after publishing this page the permalink will be automatically <site>/parent-2/parentchild2

It would be very handy if a permalink of a new child page always uses the custom permalink that is active on the parent page. So in this example the permalink of the parent page that is active is <site>/parent, so the new child page should use permalink <site>/parent/parentchild2 instead of the new by WordPress created <site>/parent-2/parentchild2.

Of course the permalinks can be changed afterwards, but you can imagine that if you have a big structure with child pages, it would be a hell of a job to change this manually.

    Regards,

    Walter Kamer

    Hi Walter,

Yup, cascading permalink updates currently aren't supported, but when I get time I'll probably work it in. You're aware that you can still change the slug for pages, without needing Custom Permalinks?

    Hay Michael,

Thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately tags (slugs) are only for posts and categories. In the meantime I will solved the issues manually. You're doing a great job with this plugin. I hope cascading permlinks will be supported in a further release.

    Regards,

    Walter Kamer

Hey Michael...I'm new to all this stuff...but trying to track you down to ask more about a post you replied to some time ago re: building a header utilizing the plugin file. You in here?!
