Custom Field Template
How to lock text field so users lower than admin can't edit (1 post)

    Hello,

I am really crossing my fingers that someone might be able to point me in the right direction because I am having reading every thread and forum that I can but can't seem to find the answer.

What I am looking to do is to have a custom text field in which only the admin can edit and change, but users lower than admin (authors, editors) can only see but cannot change or edit.

I have tried using default = xxxx and level = 10 to auto populate this field and so that this text field is only view-able to the admin, however when an author creates a post and publishes it...the value that I have in this text field doesn't seem to be publishing with it.

What I think would be easier would be just to have that text field not editable by anyone who is not a user (almost like locking the field so they can't click in it).

Does anyone have any experience with this or have a quick fix?

    Thanks!
