heathenjimmyCustom Field Images plugin does function better than the post_thumbnail, which is restricted to excerpts only and without a permalink to the post. Custom Field Images provides a permalink to the post and also via a feed reader. I hope this plugin remains listed and recommend it for any other WordPress blog.
