Just curious if there is any way to incorporate images uploaded into NextGen gallery to be available for selection in CCTM? Simply put, if you try and upload an image through an imagefield set up by CCTM, how can you get CCTM to look both in the regular Media Gallery and the NEXTGen Albums/Galleries.

I realize that this may be a question of the NextGEN author as well but I didnt know where to start.

Yeah, this is probably a question for NextGEN: the CCTM ties into native WP functionality, which I believe is the "correct" way of doing it because then all the images show up in the database or in the "Media" menu: they are searchable, you can describe them or add on any other meta-data. Many other plugins are lazy and they just upload the image somewhere, but nobody else would know where to find their secret stash of images.

There is a feature request for a custom field type that would list all files in a directory:

That's probably the only reasonable way to list images uploaded by some other plugin: you could just find the directory, point the "Directory" custom field at it, and poof, you'd have a dropdown list of images to choose from.

Yeah. Thats kind of what I was going for. I just know Ill have alot of products to list. Each product could have anywhere from 3 to 6 images so after a while, trying to find those images when looking at Admin>Media will get messy. :/

Yeah, I know what you mean. Where I'm headed with the normal image (and all relation fields: relation, image, media, etc) is to tie them into my Summarize Posts plugin. So in the future (version 0.9.5), you'll be able to specify very precisely which images (or posts, media etc) bits you want as viable options. You could, for example, choose to only list images that had been tagged with a certain term, or only images that were .png's or only images that were a certain size, etc. etc. etc. It's some powerful stuff there with Summarize Posts, so I'm ramping up to integrate it with CCTM. I know that my image selector as a whole is pretty wonky, so it's on deck for an overhaul.

Yeah. I guess my only way is to tag them with a particular tag. I just know that when I go to select a media item already uploaded from the image field of the product type, its going to give me a long long list and I cant search by that tag via the upload/choose image interface in a CCTM Content Type. So, I guess its going to be clunky for a bit.
