How about adding a "date" type meta field for custom content?
It would enable a great deal of posibilities to have for example, beginning date, end date, say for a movie playing, or a trip. Or almost anything.
Please let me know what you think.

Yes, this is good idea. I have added a feature request for this here: http://code.google.com/p/wordpress-custom-content-type-manager/issues/detail?id=5
In the mean time, please uninstall current versions of the plugin, then reinstall the latest version (currently 0.8.8).
Because these forums are not particularly useful to me as the developer since they don't notify me of problems, I kindly request that all bug reports be filed here: http://code.google.com/p/wordpress-custom-content-type-manager/issues/list
