    Hi,

I am struggling to get my taxonomies hierarchy to work/import correctly..

    I have a taxonomy location.

The “Parent” is the State and the “Child” is the City..Some states in my example even have 2 “Cities”

How do I write the taxonomy cell in Excel before exporting? I want both the parent and child to be checked…

I have tried the following combinations…

      State, City
      State, “0, City”
      State, City, City
      State, “0, City”, “0, City”

The last 2 I am trying to add 2 x children..

I can’t seem to figure this out! Any help?

    Cheers

  • try this:

    0,State
    State, City1
    State, City2

Here City1 and City2 are children of the State tax term.
The tree lines go inside the same cell. Copy&paste from a text editor…

I had problems importing the csv saved from Excel. LibreOffice, which is free, worked perfectly (save as Text CSV format, and don’t forget to press “Edit Filter Settings” and use “,” as field limiter)…

    @ennan, cheers man…that worked a treat…

Also for anyone else reading, I found Google Doc’s spreadsheet works perfect for exporting a CSV…Excel does not work at all…
