    I also needed to link images (urgently :-). I made a few modifications though haven’t made them work with the Ken Burns effect, you can try this patch/hack but note the caveats.

    Basically:

    • It adds a field to specify the link url when uploading an image.
    • Shows the url over the image excerpts in admin
    • Makes those images with urls clickable links on the front end
    • Existing link less images are not affected
    • Doesn’t work with Ken Burns option
