First of all, thank you for creating such an easy way to manage sidebar display!

I have found an issue where the sidebar is not displaying on the individual post pages. All other pages, including custom post pages seem to be working fine. I have created a child theme based on the Mantra theme.

While investigating the sidebar issue, I switched to the parent theme, and found that the sidebars display just fine there. It’s only when I switch to the child that they disappear. I tried removing all files except the required styles.css to see if any of my customizations caused the problem, but the sidebars are still not showing up.

Can you please help me resolve this issue?

    Thanks for the feedback.

I have not tested the plugin with the theme you mention, but generally there should be no issues with child themes.

Does your child theme have the exact same sidebars (excluding content aware sidebars) as the parent theme? You can check whether or not the Host Sidebar of your content aware sidebar changes when you switch themes. It is odd that the problem only appears with singular posts though.

If you send your theme files to jv[at]intox.dk I’d be happy to look at it when I get time.

    Hi

I have exact the same problem, I use Twenty Eleven and child theme. I have tried to add in <?php get_sidebar(); ?> in single.php but it doesn’t help. Can it be a bug or what?

Mail me if you need some files per.soderman[at]gmail[dot]com

Seems that depending of settings this will work, I chosed page template and category + both archive and singulars then it actually work for both template page and single post connected to the chosen category.

It’s great that you got it working. When I get time I will make a documentation for the plugin and make clear that sidebar rules actually depend on each other where possible.

If you run in to other problems, feel free to open a new thread in here.

    Hi,
I hope I am right here. After updating Content Aware Sidebars to version 1.2 and WordPress to version 3.5, I can not find all my posts in the selection list of the Sidebar plugin. I am using the suffusion theme from Sayontan Sinha version 4.4.4.
I need different sidebars for different post through replacing sidebar 1. Maybe somebody can help me.

I am having similar problems. Sidebars are disappearing from pages that have had them for a long time. I updated publication dates yesterday and that temporarily fixed the issue but pages that were visible yesterday are no longer visible today in the selection list of the plugin.

    Please help!

The issue with missing singulars and taxonomy terms in the sidebar editor has been discussed here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-content-aware-sidebars-missing-categoreis-and-pages?replies=4
