Contact Form 7
Unable to make textarea field wider (3 posts)

I am using the latest version of Contact 7 but I was having the same problem with older versions.

The standard "XX/XX" size attributes will change the number of rows in the text area field but will not change the width/columns in a text area field.

The field appears too narrow for my page width and I have tried tweeking everything I can think of including the style.css file but nothing seems to make any difference to the text area field.

I noticed that in the Chrome Browser there seems to be a javascript that lets the user expand the field from the lower right corner but that does not work in IE or some other browsers.

Anyone have an idea how to fix this.

    Thanks,

    Mike

I also tried the 40x10 and I tried changing the CSS file but no joy.

What theme are you using? Probably your theme is applying style to textarea.
