Support » Plugin: Contact Form DB » [Plugin: Contact Form 7 to Database Extension] How do I create a frontend post form?

  • First: Great tool… I’m so happy I’ve found it.

I’d like to create a page where the users can post directly. Moreover they should give me some personal data.

Meaning… I need to parts in one form:
    – personal data (no problem with CFDB)
    – title, text, picture, tags, categories, other taconomies and post functions

Finally it should be possible to
    – post from the frontend
    – to add the personal data to both: post and database

Just imagine a diary with pictures and personal data like name, telephone number, etc. in it

How do I realize this? Is it possible with CF7+CFDB?
… or do I need other plugins? (and if… which?)

The plugin does not support the ability to save a form submission as a WP Post. (Did I understand what you are asking?)

    Excactly…
anyway… it is not so far away of it.

You just have to initiate to save the data to the right fields (perhaps you can make it possible to choose between target db-fields of the existing WP-database?).
    Can’t you add that?

There are so many people out there, who would need this.
Think about tourism or hotel sites. Community sites etc.
    What do you think?

Before we go down this road, explore this: WP has a way to post via email (I haven’t tried it) and CF7 sends emails. Seems to me you might be able to set things up where CF7 sends an email to WP then it would create a post.

thx a lot for the reminder… of course… tried that before… just wonder if I can also send the category… but I will find out.
Again… thx for the hint 🙂
