    Hi there,

Wordfence found the following new issues on "mysite "

Alert generated at Friday 5th of October 2012 at 08:22:30 AM Critical Problems:

    WordPress core file modified: wp-content/index.php

File contains suspected malware URL: /home/mysite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/readme.txt

    Warnings:
Unrecognized file in WordPress core directory: wp-admin/error_log

I'm not sure what to do with this, when I found this notification. If anyone could actually help me about this matter. I would be really grateful.

    Thanks in advance,
    Carl

An error.log file is not malware. Neither is a readme.txt file.

Technically tool is correct as issue was a link to an infected website of a translator. Was black listed by Google, think it was this one https://www.virustotal.com/url/c3ce6d5afef4b923185e80c561b3f28fb1efea7c719eed5d42067d1f15312e2b/analysis/1351651331/

If you do a re-scan right now you will see it is clean.

Text file can contain malware, does not even have to be a text file so I do not think it is an error of scanner to include text and such files. Or to include "You wont die by looking" bad links category. That is what it is supposed to. But site is of course not infected, must translate findings to real life before doing anything :)
