    Hi.

    I’ve just started using Contact Form 7 for one of my clients websites. I setup the form last week, and have been working on it ever since. The form have been working perfect until yesterday.

    When I click the send button, it now says “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.”.

    What I don’t get is why it stopped working in the middle of my testing. The testing I were doing at the moment was just what would appear in the mail. So the changes I were doing when it stopped working should not have any effect on form.

    As I’ve been testing up and down the last week, I’ve made the form send a lot of emails over a short amount of time. So I was wondering if this could make my email provider block it or something like that? Changing the senders/retrievers email does not work, and I’ve tried to delete the whole plugin and reinstalled, made new forms etc. It just stopped working all the sudden.

    Hi again.

    I just found it working again, as someone I know tried to use it (with their mail, not mine), and it seems to be working.

    Does this mean that the form get locked down for me because I’ve sent too many test mails to my self (receiver: my mail, <[your-mail]>), or is it the plugin that closes down after too many uses?

    I guess it was just that the mail server on your host was down temporarily for some reason, not relating to what you ware doing.

    Yeah, lets hope so! The form will be published in a few days, and I really need it to stay working from now on.

    Hi again.

    The same problem just appeared again now today. The contact form have been up and running for about a month now and my client have received hundreds of successful form-applications so far. The last successful sent application-form was sent around 11:00am (UTC +01:00), but has started to acting up like before.

    No one is able to send in their application (red box with the message “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.”.)

    I’m hoping that it will come to life again soon, but I was wondering if anyone else have the same problem and maybe a solution.

    I am having the same problem, it has been happening for a few weeks. I have to deactivate and activate the plugin again to make it work. Any suggestions on why this is happening would be great!

    It seems to be up and running as normal again now. I’ve tried several different methods to clear up the problems, but none of them seems to be working.

    So it may seem like it was the mail-servers or my web-host that had some issues. I will leave it be for now, but if the same problem occurs again I will let you know and dig deeper to find the source of the problem.

    Ps. Deactivate and activate the plugin did not work for me. I even tried to reinstall the plugin from scratch.
    I also tried WP SMTP Mail plugins, but with no luck.

    It continues to happen for me. If I deactivate, it works for a while, usually a day. But the next day it is not working again.

    I am having the same problem, but getting the message in the orange border instead of the red one. I do have Akismet activated, but it doesn’t make sense how every message (even from different adresses) is blocked by Akismet as spam, every single time. (I read the FAQ, and there it says that the message in the orange border is usually due to this.)

    Deactivating and reactivating the plugin doesn’t help, either.

    Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Also getting a failure with the orange border. Akismet is registered and active.

    Is there any place to actually see the blocked messages and why they’re being filtered?

    Is it possible / preferable to just disable the Akismet spam filter?

    All right, if you’re having the same problem as I am, I think I found a solution. I am not sure if it will work for everybody, and I am still testing it myself, but it doesn’t hurt to share:

    It seems that, if your Akismet plugin is active, you have to configure your form properly to use Akismet’s spam filtering, by following these instructions/guidelines:

    This I noticed when I decided to deactivate my Akismet installation and try sending an e-mail via the contact form. The message got sent then. And as soon as I reactivated Akismet, it stopped sending messages again. So I decided to learn more about the Contact Form 7 and Akismet relationship, and found that information in the documentation.

    I don’t know why this is so; it may or may not be intended by the plugin author, but either way, making those little changes to my form seems to be working.

    @usastoragesearch I tried using both the contact forms that you posted and both worked in my end (green border and all). πŸ™‚

    Btw. I dont use Akisment myself as I am in no need of spamfilter, but I hope you guys figure it out.

    @usastoragesearch That worked for me aswell. You need to use a domain email in the “from” section. It’s working for now, but only time will show if it will knock out again.
