[Plugin: Contact Form 7] Cant get it to work???

Hello all im very new to word press and am trying to install contact7 to my contact page, do i just add the basic text to my contact page in html as it says? ie:

<p>Your Name (required)
[text* your-name] </p>

<p>Your Email (required)
[email* your-email] </p>

<p>Subject
[text your-subject] </p>

<p>Your Message
[textarea your-message] </p>

<p>[submit “Send”]</p>

As when i did this, its exactly how it came out on the page??????

Where am i going wrong?
