Every time I change a setting and hit “Save” it says I have not entered a valid Constant Contact user name and password, although I have…over and over again.

  • Same issue here. It may save the initial settings, but they will be lost shortly after that, and must be reentered.

This renders the plugin as not usable…

Really a nice plugin if we can get that working again!

Okay, I found out what the issue was; it’s fixed in 2.0.1, just released.

The issue was moving the settings to a different page with version 2.0. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Thanks Zack! I’ll update to the new version.

It appears to work now. I won’t be able to tell for sure until a little time passes (sometimes for me it was a bit of time before the settings were lost).
    Thanks!

I have downloaded your 2.0.1 and I’m still getting the same error as above. Running WP 3.1 and self hosted.

Can you tell me what you do to reproduce the error?

    (@digitalhytop)

Hi Zack. I installed and activated the plug-in. Visited the Settings page, enter the correct user ID and PW for Constant contact and click on save. I’m getting the message at the top of the screen that the ID and PW are incorrect. All the while I’m logged into Constant Contact in another tab in my browser with the same ID and PW I entered into the plug-in.

I even checked off to remove the information from the database, deactivated the plug-in, removed it and reinstalled it with the same results.

That sounds like a separate issue, and not related to the disappearing settings. I have not heard of that one before, but I imagine that it’s a server setting that is preventing proper communication with Constant Contact….Check your server logs maybe?

    DigitalHytop

    (@digitalhytop)

Hmmm, I’ve not had any other issues similar to this so far, but I’ll take a look at the logs and see what I can find.

    Thanks for the speedy reply.

I’m getting the exact same thing as digitalhytop. I just setup new constant contact (60 day trial) and just installed your plugin. Same exact error as digitalhytop .. Using chrome logged into CC in another tab, etc..

Checked Server error logs = nada
    Checked Server Raw Access Log = xx.xxx.xxx.xxx – – [14/Mar/2011:00:26:01 -0400] “GET /wp-admin/admin.php?page=constant-contact-api&settings-updated=true HTTP/1.1” 200 18330 “http://www.xxxxx.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=constant-contact-api&settings-updated=true” “Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.16 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/10.0.648.133 Safari/534.16”

Let me know if these issues are still going on with the latest version (2.1.2).

My issues with losing the username and password seem to be gone, and it’s working fine now.
I had no other issues, but the site is still in dev, and I won’t really know until it goes live.
Looks good as of now though!

Hi Zack. I’m still having the same issue that the plugin claims I’m not using a valid login to Constant Contact. Like Dale, I found nothing out of sorts in my logs and I’m certain that the information I’ve entered are in fact correct.

@digitalhytop – Can you email me directly? info@katzwebservices.com

It would be helpful if I could test your settings using a temp. password you create for me.

Yes sorry still having same problem here too after upgrade and I had my fingers crossed and everything. 🙂

Do you want a temp password to constant contact or just our admins?
