Not a big issue, but every time I get the notice to do an update of Connections and I do so, the Connections capabilities of my custom roles where resetted. So I have to set them up anew after each upgrade. Is it possible to avoid that somehow?

Sorry, that is a long standing bug. Right now, there is not a way to avoid it.
