In the admin options for this plugin, there are options to show a checkbox “Notify me of follow-up comments via e-mail”

My commenters are not allowed to use the admin options for the plugin. How can they stop receiving comments?

I’d like to know how to deactivate this option too. No check box is showing up so I have to assume people are being emailed automatically.

I want to know that also

These are some of the options in admin. A checkbox shows unde the comment submit button on the page with “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail” Same as ‘Subscribe-to-comments’ plugin

Email notify the parent commenter when his comment was replied

    -Disabled
-Replied by the author of the post or administrator ONLY
    -Anyone replies
-Commenter choose to do so(default checked)

Is it work for any visitor ? Since i logged out as guest visitor and try to enter my email and reply, it seems no any reply notification email to my email box ? Anyone can help me, thanks a lot.

Has anyone figured out how to do this? to allow users to unsubscribe to emails about replies to their comments? The plugin does, indeed, permit users to opt out when they leave their comment, but it does not allow any change to that selection – it seems to be a life-long commitment to one silly comment! And sometimes you get LOTS of replies, and you just want them to stop.

    Any ideas?

    TIA

Yes for sure this plugin is great but obviously lacking a serious option and should be updated.
Personally I like to be informed of further comments in threads I joined but I also want to be able to unsubscribe at any time.
I think this is a legal process and without unsubscribe option, emails notification can be considered as spams…

Cannot start using this kind of feature without the unsubscribe.

Since it seems to be universally not available does that mean it is impossible to implement?

Yeah, without the option to unsubscribe it’s a non-starter. I could get the blog’s domain and server blacklisted by people getting frustrated and marking as spam.

With this plug-in, if you don’t go to the link in the email do you still get new comment emails? … I know that with some forums, if you get a notification, and don’t go to the link, you don’t get anymore emails.

Who has a suggestion for a great plug-in to notify commenters of new comments?

    WordPress.org … hmmmm …

    … I can’t preview my post?
    … I can’t edit my post?
    … I can’t get email notifications of new comments/replies?

AAarrgh!! And I thought Drupal.org was too basic. It sure makes me love vBulletin.
