Is anybody else having a problem with the caption of the first slide in a custom slideshow being displayed on all the slides? It fades out and everything, but doesn’t change to the next picture’s caption.

It’s definitely only happening on the custom slideshows, not on the default ones that are based on the media attached to that page. That would be fine, except I need to be able to assign individual links to each slide rather than just linking to the image itself

still experiencing problems even with version 1.4?

I am no longer experiencing that problem, no.

However, the upgrade seems to have an interesting side effect of crunching my images down to a small thumbnail size. It really isn’t a huge deal for me because I’m still developing locally and haven’t pushed anything live yet. I’m able to add new images and they come up at the right size no problem. Other users using the existing plugin might have issues upgrading, though.

Another thing I noticed as a side effect of the upgrade was that when the slideshow cycles around to the beginning again, the last slide stays on the screen and the first slide is overlaid on top of it, rather than having it fading out, like the others. I don’t know if that’s just so it can look seemless or not, but that’s just something I noticed. Once my images are resized, though, it won’t be an issue.

Otherwise, it’s working just like I hoped. A simple slideshow with a caption without all the other garbage that so many other plugins try to push on you. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! I’m working on a new version and I hope to fix any reported issues ASAP.

By the way, a container div “wrapper” has been added (it should be set to “position: relative” to avoid bad positioning while loading) so you may have to adjust your CSS.

Custom slide image resizing was a buggy feature in the previous versions, but now it should be restored to work as expected: since one cannot load huge files multiple times, first it will resize uploaded/external images to fit the slideshow size, and then generate slideshow thumbnails according to the global options.

Unfortunately, fixed dimensions are still not an option in feeding javascript effects properly.
