[resolved] taxonomy filter being added to custom post type (8 posts)

I just completed an update of this wonderful plugin to the latest version.

Unfortunately, it is now adding a taxonomy filter to all my custom post types. I already had my own function handling this - so now I have duplicates.

It is also pulling the term slug instead of name, so I see things like "Show All captain-location" instead of my version which shows "Show All Captain Locations". And the use of ampersand in a term name throws out the html code instead of &

Needless to say - my clients are confused and this looks really unprofessional. I need an option (or a filter or something) to remove the filter on the taxonomy that the plugin is adding.

Meanwhile, I need to go and hack this on over 30 client sites before they lynch me.

    Please help....

    Hi,

I can see how this is not desirable for your clients sites. I think the taxonomy filtering needs a little more work before I release it. That's why I decided to remove it for now. There is a new release available version 1.4.5.1 without the taxonomy filter dropdown.

I will probably re-introduce the filtering of taxonomies, but only with an option to turn them on or off individually.

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you Tobias. I updated and the filters were definitely removed. Much preferable to hacking code :-)

I think they are a great addition to your plugin, as many folks don't know how to add them to their functions with code - but they definitely need an option to turn off for folks that already have code to handle this.

i am on the other side of the boat, I had my own code added, but once you added it to the plugins default I removed my custom code for a few sites and have been avoiding all updates on the plugin to keep the feature.

It would be great if it was added back in a update, or maybe as part of the addon sorting feature that I already purchased.

    Thanks for the great plugin!

I have just updated the plugin to v1.4.6.2. This version includes a filter which let you add the taxonomy filtering again.

You can enable the dropdown menu for taxonomy filtering by adding this one line of code to your themes functions.php

    add_filter( 'cpac-remove-filtering-columns', '__return_false' );

I another version I will add some controls for this in the UI, but in the meanwhile you can use this.

I have added this to the FAQ aswell.

Tobias, in the FAQ section, you forgot to put the ";" at the end of the filter. Great plugin!
