Code Insert Manager (Q2W3 Inc Manager)
Twenty Eleven: Adding Sidebar possible? (4 posts)

    As you may know the Twenty Eleven Theme shows the sidebar on the frontpage, but shows no sidebars on post pages.

    So far I opened

    single.php

    and changed

    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    to

    <?php get_sidebar(); ?>
    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    Is it possible to do this with Code Insert Manager?

    I tried "after post content" but post content also includes the footer.

    Could you add an "after post content before footer" option?

    Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues. Create a child theme for your changes or install http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/twenty-eleven-theme-extensions/

    Knn!

    Try this method:
    Create new Insert with location - manual.
    Code to insert:
    <?php get_sidebar(); ?>
    In single.php add this line:
    <?php if ( method_exists('q2w3_inc_manager', 'manual_inc') ) q2w3_inc_manager::manual_inc(your_insert_id); ?>
    before
    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    But, you'll also need to change styles of the theme.
    So, I agree with Esmi - it will be better to create child theme and make all changes there.

    Thank you, Mr. Bond, a very nice solution, but that includes also editing of a .php file.

    I would prefer it if that plugin could solve it.
