Co-Authors Plus
[resolved] Multiple Authors without 'submit for review' after each edit (11 posts)

    Hi,
We're working on a site for a large organisation that needs to
assign some of their pages to a particular author
allow this author to manage their own pages WITHOUT them needing them to be reviewed each time

We've been using the oldish role manager plugin to allow authors to extend the author's capabilities to allow this but when we use Co-Authors plus to allow the organisation to assign more than one author to a page the custom capabilities seem to be lost and each time one of the authors makes an edit they get the 'submit for review' button and a higher level user needs to approve.

Would appreciate any help coming up with a solution that will allow us to assign multiple authors to a page but also allow them to make edits without needing a review. (If we make the users editors they can edit all pages on the site which is no good).

    Thanks.

update - disabling role manager plugin doesn't affect this behaviour.

I believe it may be the same as discussed here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/multiple-authors-cant-edit-pages?replies=18, although I'm using 2.6.4.

What capabilities does the author role have? Are the authors allowed to publish pages as well, or just edit published pages they've been assigned to?

Thanks for the quick response Daniel.

Are the authors allowed to publish pages as well, or just edit published pages they've been assigned to?

No. When I give them this capability it's working as expected with multiple authors per page.

I was hoping to avoid this because the site admins didn't want their authors to be able to add new pages, just edit the ones they that were assigned to them - which has been their workflow with a single author per page - but am I right in assuming this isn't going to be possible with Co-Authors Plus?

There's some caps filtering going on. I'll see if I can work out a solution for you

I think this should be fixed on the master branch now. Can you try downloading that and seeing how it works for your use case?

Hi, sorry to break with your current query, I'm new on here so not to sure if this is the right place to ask.

@Steve You mentioned that you had users set up to 'submit for review' edits to posts that were already published. How did you do that?

I have been searching for a solution to this fo a while, funny how your trying to do the opposite :)

Again sorry if this is the wrong place, I'm desperate!
