I just tried to use this plugin. I was able to search for the user I wanted to share a page with and they are listed as one of the authors in the list however when they log in they still have no author rights to the page.

Have you done any modifications to the user capabilities? What role does the user have? By default authors can’t edit pages, so there’s likely a conflict there.

Darn, my site(s) have thousands of users that I cannot (should not) change them from Authors, I will play with that thought though. But the answer is yes most of them are authors

You can edit the author role, or create a new role, that has the proper capabilities to edit pages.
