I can add and delete avatars, they are uploaded and they appear in the wp_cimy_uef_data table correctly.

However, when I view a User profile in the back-end, I see no image.
If I view source, I see there is a jQuery plugin that targets the element #cimy_uef_HEADSHOT_1_data, but this does not exist on my page!

This happens both on my localhost and on my web host (Mediatemple).
I tried with a clean installation of WordPress on both, and the problem persists.

Never mind, found my problem! I had Avatars turned off under Settings > Discussion.
I thought it would replace the avatar system, not work through it.

Which means it’s working as it should. The more a plugin is able to work “with” WordPress (instead of separate) the better the compatibility with other plugins.

For example, I’m using “Simple Local Avatars” for my WordPress and BBPress forum, and the plugin works perfectly between the two.

I’ve now discovered the Cimy plugin, and I’m hoping to remove the above plugin and use it instead since it seems to fix the other issues I’ve discovered that wordpress doesn’t allow us to edit, i.e. Login/Registration pages and the sent out email. Absolutely stupid that we have to have a plugin for Avatar upload, and these other things with what should be default wordpress functionality.

Anyway, let’s hope this system works.

To update….. It looks like Cimy’s Avatar works exactly like it should, in all places it should.

The only issue with it is you have to actually “create” the fields, etc. yourself so it shows in your Profile. That was kinda hard to figure out at first. But, after it’s done and uploaded, it shows fine everywhere, including BBPress.

Another issue I noticed is that the Plugin doesn’t use your correct address and info when Registering unless you select the “click link” in email to verify option. Then Reg email won’t be the “WordPress” email title and email.

One thing I would improve is the Users Dashboard….. The bar at the top still shows the wordpress logo, wordpress dropdown, the wordpress help, and the footer shows some info it shouldn’t.

Hmmmm…… Going to have to see if there is another plugin for that maybe? Though, still figuring out things. I need to look at the “White Label CMS” plugin. Of course disablin Cimy to see which is best.
