Cat + Tag Filter
[resolved] Nice Idea, But Doesn't Seem to Be Working (15 posts)

I like the idea of this, but it didn't work for me. The widget shows, but when I try to search for a tag that I know exists, it returns no results.

It seems the URL gets corrupted. When I search, for example, for tag1 in the uncategorized category, my URL looks like this:

    ?category_name=uncategorizedArray&tag=tag1

I played with the URL, and added & before "Array" and it worked.

    ?category_name=uncategorized&Array&tag=tag1

Is there a way to get this fixed?

I tried using this plugin and got other weird results too. I tried contacting the developer (through Facebook, even) with no response. :( Too bad. I'd be willing to pay to get this resolved.

Do you use the last version of the plugin? What WordPress version do you use? Can you give a link to your website?
I don't get such an error...

Never seen any messages from you. It is better to post you bug reports here.

Thank you, Ajayver, for getting back to me. I'm using 3.3.1 and your plugin is version 0.4 (downloaded from WordPress directly).

My website is http://www.thehotboxgallery.com and the plugin is being used on http://www.thehotboxgallery.com/drink-recipes/

I had created a ticket for my issue here:

I'm sorry, but I don't see any recipes to filter there :(

I know. That's the problem. :) Do I need to have it showing all drinks first, then allow users to filter the results? It was partially working before: if I selected a category it would return drinks in that category, but not if I selected any tags.
Should I email you directly until I resolve this? I don't know if trivum was having the same issue so I've sort of hijacked his post.

The results are not exactly same! We're getting closer. Try to update to 0.4.2 it should help I hope.

Yes! 0.4.2 seems to be working! If I don't select a category (all spirits) it just goes to home page. Is there a setting I need to change to have it return all drinks (posts in those categories)?

Ok, update the plugin again :)
You should set drink recipes page as a blog page in Options -> Reading. then the plugin will redirect to it if nothing was chosen and the page will show all posts.

PotierBertrand, you can use css styles to change the shape of buttons and checkboxes.
