As a result of this solution http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-cart66-lite-error-at-digital-product-options-for-custom-downlod-folder?replies=3 to have .htaccess file with deny all in the folder with all the downloads, the following happens.

When I pay for a product – a zip file of mp3 for a specific CD – I can download the .zip file ok. However, I can not extract it! It will say something along the lines:

#0 Can not open file 'file-name' as archive.

I’ve tested the same zip in the folder without .htaccess and it all works fine.

Could you please help me out with this??? How can I protect files from accessing from the Internet, but at the same time make sure .zip are extractable when they are downloaded after paying for them?

    Many thanks,
    Dasha

When you are specifying the path to your digital product in the Cart66 Settings panel, you should use the absolute path to the product and not a URL to the product. So, for example, it should be something like /var/www/httpdocs/products/mySongs.zip and it should not be a URL like http://www.mysite.com/products/mySongs.zip

If you are already using the absolute path to the product and not a URL I’ll research this further and see if there may be a problem with either the .htaccess file I suggested or the Cart66 code.

After restarting computer this works well. Don’t know what happened there, but all is functioning now alright.

    Thanks for a quick answer.
