    Hi!

How can I create a capability? I used the "add capability" widget of Capsman plugin, but I think that I have to write a php function too...

What and where I have to write it?

I hope someone will help me :-)

    Thanks,
    Giovanni

To create the capability is easy: Fill de box and it gets created. I think the problem is how to use it. This depends on the code, and the plugins you have. Normally a capability is created because some plugin will need it.

So what is the answer? What's the magical format to enter into the box?

    Look at http://alkivia.org/plugins/capsman/rules/

There is no magical format. If you need to enter a capability, is because you wrote a plugin that will use it... Just enter the same capability name you wrote on your plugin.

Plugins that use capabilities, normally create them when activated.

Do you know if there is a way to use this plugin to allow a Contributer to post via the Flickr API without allowing a directly published post? I when I check “Publish posts” the post is automatically published (makes sense) but I want all posts to come through to be held in a queue for moderation by an Editor. I’m trying to tweak an Author profile to get what I need but feel like I’m trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Any suggestions are very much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Dan

I think 'Edit Posts' capability can do the job.

Contributors posts always need moderation, so if a user is contributor, all their posts will be held for moderation.

Did you test making this user a 'Contributor' ?

Contributor was my first choice but the Flickr API doesn't seem to like the defaults for a Contributor. That's why I wanted to see if tweaking this role with Capability Manager (CM) might do the trick. 'Edit Posts' is already selected in CM. It seems that Flickr may be requiring 'Publish posts', so maybe I need to look to them to provide an option.

CM allowed me to add a plugin (Faster image insert) to the Contributor role. This allows the contributor insertion of an image from a computer hard-drive, NextGen gallery or URL. The URL is going to help solve the problem that I needed to solve but getting Flickr to do a workaround would also be nice.
