[resolved] Upgrading from version 2.0.2 to 2.0.5 because Premium Paypal mod (4 posts)

    Hi,

I've added around 165 listings, some categories and tags. We purchased the premium paypal module but BDP needs version 2.0.4.

Will upgrading from business directory plugin version 2.0.2 to version 2.0.5 will retain those listings? if not, how to backup those directory listings?

    Thanks

Yes, those listings will be retained. You won't lose the listing data.

Some users have reported "losing" the thumbnails--this is not an actual loss, as it is a change of metadata from much older versions. If you started out on 1.0.8 or earlier, you may see that problem. If you installed 2.0.x or later, you're fine on that.

If you do run into it, don't panic. You just need to edit each listing and check the image that is the thumbnail, and then save the listing.

    Another question,

I can't automatically upgrade new version via wordpress backend because this error exist.

    Downloading update from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/business-directory-plugin.zip…

    Unpacking the update…

    Could not create directory. /home/username/public_html/site/wp-content/upgrade/business-directory-plugin.tmp/business-directory-plugin

    Return to Plugins page.

So I download new version then I'm uploading it via cpanel of hostgator. In this case, What file do I need not to overwrite?

    Sorry for that error.

Sounds like your website either has a file permission issue or you need to overwrite things manually.

I don't know if you made custom changes to the plugin, but if you did not, then you should be able to delete the directory wp-content/plugins/business-directory-plugin and then upload the contents of the ZIP to a *new* business-directory-plugin directory. After that, make sure you activate the plugin, which will trigger the upgrade.
