I just did the ver .47.1 to ver .47.2 update on two sites.

It should be noted that the new update process works great.

However, if you just simply do the update and then go on about your business, you’ll find that the .htaccess file permission was changed during the update to unlock the file. It does not automatically re-lock.

So after you update be sure to go to “edit/upload/download” tab and re-lock your .htaccess file.

    The recommended permission is 404
If you don’t re-lock, the permission will be 644

Again, thanks for making the update process easier.

    UPDATE:

    Just noticed this too.
When checking the security status I got this note:
“Deny All protection NOT activated for BPS Master /htaccess folder”

Which means you also need to go to this setting:
“Activate Deny All htaccess Folder Protection For The BPS Master htaccess Folder”

    And re-activate it.

hmm the root .htaccess file should be CHMOD back to 404, unless i made a boo boo. I’ll double check that code. Thanks.

Yeah I will automate this as well in the next version, probably a week or two from now. The WordPress plugin installer deletes all the old plugin files and adds all new plugin files so i will just do a automated thing after WordPress finishes their plugin installation. Thanks.

FYI – want to see something funny? hover over the Please Rate BPS link. LOL You’ve heard of Link Trolls right? So consider me a Star Troll. LOL

“More Star Ratings = more goodies added to BPS”

    I like that.

Too bad it only goes up to five stars.

Yeah since asking for links back to AITpro never amounted to anything then i thought i would try and get some Star Ratings out of the deal. LOL And of course offer some sort of participation incentive. 😉
