• Are there any FREE plugins for this? Also, the ones I have found don’t work as they should:

Buddystream includes Facebook and Twitter at a subscription of 50$/year.

BuddyPress Facebook Connect+ is also minimum 50$.

TwitConnect only shows in the login widget. Using the php tag anywhere else only shows my e-mail address for some strange reason. I want to put the login button in some custom spots – namely the Slide-in panel plugin.

WP Google+ Connect and WP-FB-AutoConnect seem to work fine…

BUT none of them works as they should:

    Scenario 1:
New user only has a Facebook or Google+ acount. They login to the site using the Connect buttons – A new user account is made, BUT THEY DON”T HAVE A PASSWORD FOR TRADITIONAL LOGIN!

    Scenario 2:
User already has a buddypress account and is NOT logged in to the blog. They have a facebook or google+ account DOES NOT use the same e-mail as their blog profile. They click the connect buttons – A NEW PROFILE GETS MADE INSTEAD OF LINKING TO THEIR ALREADY ESTABLISHED BLOG PROFILE + NO PASSWORD FOR TRADITIONAL LOGIN.

    Scenario 3:
User already has a buddypress account and is presently logged in to the blog. They have a facebook or google+ account that doesn’t necessarily use the same e-mail as their blog profile. They click the connect buttons and their profile gets linked to their facebook or google+ accounts. – No problems here because user was already logged in at time of connecting.

    Scenario 4:
User already has a buddypress account and is NOT logged in to the blog. They have a facebook or google+ account that uses the same e-mail as their blog profile. They click the connect buttons and their profile gets linked to their facebook or google+ accounts. – No problems here because the emails are the same so they link up.

Basically, isn’t there anything out there that fixes the problems with Scenarios 1 & 2 – namely that if a new connected profile is made, they get asked to create a buddypress password and that before connecting the accounts to have the user be asked to log in to a current buddypress account if they have one?

  • I am also been looking around for a plugin that will do the same. I have tried facestream and tweetstream

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/facestream/
    And
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tweetstream/

I was thinking that maybe I could just like other peoples post from the activate stream in buddypress and this would send it to my facebook fan page but I have not been able to find anything that will do it as you have listed above.

I am also looking for a plugin that will take a blog post and auto post it on facebook and twitter and google +. I have been using feedwordpress http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/feedwordpress/
I would like to take peoples RSS feed and show them on my site so that members see the RSS feed in the activate stream. Feedwordpress works really well for this but I would like to be able to send the post that feedwordpress makes to my facebook, twitter and google + accounts as a extra bonus and this would also mean that I will have content on all my sites.

Have you found anything like this?

    Thanks
    Chris

What part of FREE wasn’t understood? Furthermore, you mention one of the very plugins I mentioned at the beginning!

    READ next time please!

I was actually asking does it work or not….. I am interested in it..

Again, if you read my topic, you’d also see WP-FB-AutoConnect, which is free and does the same as what you brought up.

Now please stick tot the topic at hand or create you own topic. This is about a FREE alternative to Buddystream, not asking if other plugins work.

    I just looooove your attitude

What do you expect when you highjack this asking a completely irrelevant question to the topic at hand while while also bringing up a plugin which has been established in the question as being irrelevant?

I apologize if I am being overtly harsh, but the topic and your question are two very different things and as such, belong in two very different topics.

@tislam100: It is impolite to interrupt another poster’s thread. Please post your own topic.

    Thank you @esmi.

And it’s not impolite to react/respond so rudely??

If tislam100 made a mistake according to this forum’s guidelines then so be it, but he/she certainly doesn’t deserve the kind of rude response he/she got. I certainly now have no interest in assisting the OP.

Getting back on track I just installed twit-connect and it works great with buddypress. Has lots of options. Give it a go.

    @enderpal444

Can you tell me more about how the plugin works for buddypress the plugin info is very limited.

    @enderpal444

Twitconnect doesn’t work when using the custom tags in other places in the blog – see my original post up top.
