• it goes through the process, but it ends up saying “BuddyPress is ready. You’ll need to activate a BuddyPress compatible theme to take advantage of all of the features. We’ve bundled a default theme, but you can always install some other compatible themes or upgrade your existing WordPress theme.”

also, it doesn’t integrate any of the widgets to my theme.

  • “BuddyPress is ready ….. upgrade your existing WP theme.”

To delete the reminder, open up your active theme’s style.css file and add BuddyPress to the list of tags. You find this instruction at end of BP Template Pack integration/compatibility process.
e.g. Tags: blue, white, fixed width, BuddyPress

also, it doesn’t integrate any of the widgets to my theme.

What do you mean? If your custom theme has dynamic sidebars, then widgets you place via Appearance > Widgets will be rendered in site.

and as far as integration i put widgets, but i think i meant profile. I am having a problem with BP and normal profile/dashboard Intergration. Do i just have to start over? or can i sync them?

I am having a problem with BP and normal profile/dashboard Intergration

Do you mean you want to show what’s in user’s profile in dashboard in your BP profile page? Or do you mean imposing your theme’s styling/structure onto the generated BP component pages?

    in the dashboard

It’s not going to work out of the box right now. See BPDev’s post here about reasoning for this.
