So I finally got this working with an Artisteer build theme. But I'm having a couple problems. First is the alignment. The activity isn't being displayed inside the container and is overlapping some of the widgets: http://withtorment.com/test/activity
Also, The styling is meant for lighter themes isn't it? Is there dark styles availible? Do I need to keep the plugin once the theme is finished?
Once you've set up the theme, you're more than welcome to disable BP Template Pack's built-in wireframe CSS and roll your own.
The wireframe CSS is really a guide so you can theme to your heart's content! :)
As for alignment, each theme is different. There are a couple of tutorials written by mercime detailing how to adjust your theme with BP Template Pack:

These tutorials are meant for use with TwentyTen and TwentyEleven, but hopefully you can get the main ideas behind them.
