BuddyPress Courseware
[resolved] [Plugin: BuddyPress ScholarPress Courseware] Paid Membership per course/ group (13 posts)

    Hi

I am looking at using BuddyPress+ Courseware+s2member for a specific type of website. Where by people can sign up and pay for courses and only have access to that course/ group. And alos be able to then sign up for other piad-courses if they want.

    Did that make sense? :)

My question has this been done before? Is it posable or is there a better solution?

Basically I have seen that, through some hacks you can use the Custom Capability function to auto assign a user to a group via s2member. But this doesn't really address the problem of when the clients wants to add more courses to their courses on offer.

Looking forward to what you guys think or have any good ideas for a workaround.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best Regards
    Nick

Same here. Really need such a feature to allow students to pay for course membership.

Sorry guys, there are no plans to have this as core functionality in nearest future.

Try to use WPMU Membership. They have perfect integration with BP Groups .

No luck with WPMU Membership. (working on the same type project as the original poster) I also tried WPMU Pay-Per View which works great for pages but since the courses are not "pages" you can not incorporate that plug-in with Courseware.
    Still looking for answers.

In my case it also turned out that WPMU Membership has its own pitfalls. So I'm looking for alternative membership plugins (I need to users be able to have more than one active subscription at a time). I'm considering to give a try to the DigitalAccessPass.

Wondering why this says it is "Resolved" when clearly it is not...

@HallMarc it's resolved because this is not a direct BuddyPress Courseware issue.

that is true... working on a fix now to resolve the issue by eliminating Courseware from the site.

@amplified2 Please let us know how you fair, regarding this one.

Myself, I eventually went with Expression Engine and that actually worked pretty well (but was a little expense and the learning curve was a little high :) ) But would be very interested to hear if this is feasible within a WordPress environment.

@Stas I would say that this would be more of a feature request, or a request for advise based on your experience in this field, than saying that it is not directly related. Please, I'm not being mean, love what you guys are doing! I would only ask that you would look at this with an open mind :)

Thanks again and good luck to all! :)

@amplified2 good luck with this attitude.

@Mr_Boy I worked with the most popular membership plugins for WordPress, but I really think this is not the scratch Courseware should be solving. All I could suggest is to address the issue to popular plugin authors to make their code suck less (I mean it, didn't see one plugin worth contributing to).
