First off: thanks for creating this plugin, it's very, very useful. Unfortunately, in my setup it doesn't work yet.

    Here's the story:
(WP 3.0.1 multisite install and the latest BuddyPress)

    My setup:

blog 1: domain.com ("my first blog")
    blog 2: subdomain.domain.com ("a second blog")
blog 3: bp.domain.com ("my buddypress site")

    in wp_config I have defined BP_ROOT_BLOG to be 3.

After installing the plugin it is setting options of blog nr 1, which is not my buddypress blog.
After changing all switch_to_blog(1) calls to:

    switch_to_blog(BP_ROOT_BLOG);

    Things looked a bit better.

    BUT:
In the options-list in the admin panel, I'm allowed only to pick "a second blog" (blog 2) and "my buddypress site" (blog 3).

So not blog 1. Which happens to be the blog I want to be able for people to join.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    This may help you:

But there's more issues than that in the codebase IMO. All of the problems I was experiencing went away for me when I moved the moderation settings from being set on activation to being set at the end of signup... however, I can't say with absolute certainty that it will work in all situations (such as multisite installations).

If it will help you though, check out:

Read those disclosures carefully... I'll be the first to admit that I'm probably unqualified to have made the changes that I did, but they worked for me. Hopefully they might work for others as well.

    No luck, too bad.

Also: past the deadline for this project, so I decided not to use this plugin.
