[Plugin: BuddyPress Groupblog] Contributor Default Not Working (6 posts)

I have Contributor set as the overall default in BP, so that's not the issue. When users join the group, they're not automatically set as contributors and therefore can't add posts.

Another issue: the buttons are messed up in the Group Blog settings. Under Default Moderator Role it lists Editor and Author twice and then the button for Contributor (for Default Member Role) is on the moderator line. So I don't know if I'm even selecting the correct default and maybe this is leading to the 1st problem.

Using BP 1.1.3 and GB 1.3.1

Just saw someone else had this problem and it might be a plugin compatibility issue. I've got running:

Add to Any, Adsense Manager, Cforms, Cimy Swift SMTP, Subscribe to Comments. I deactivated all of them and the options still look basically like this:

    Default Moderator Role:

Editor Author Contributor Subscriber Administrator Editor Author

    Default Member Role:

    Contributor Subscriber

The latest of bp-groupblog (1.3.1) is running here: http://sandbox.ywamcloud.com/ and I can not reproduce the issue.

This site has also got a few other plugins running without causing a conflict...at least regarding bp-groupblog.

Can you provide a link for us to look at?

Also where else did you see this person who had this particular problem, so we can assist there as well. Where we can, but we can try :)

You already helped out this guy and said it was a plugin issue:

I just activated the Buddypress default theme and the default options all show correctly. So it's a theme issue, and possibly a theme issue for the other person as well. Might also account for the problem of contributors listing as subscribers. Have you tested it on other themes?

Thanks for crossrefrencing that issue. I'm more than positive in that case his plugin was interfering, since it was dealing with the same hooks and permissions.

I signed up at the url you provided. I see it is a custom theme. I can probably trouble shoot it a bit and give direction if you need. However the plugin is possibly disabled and for good reason if it doesn't work.

If you need help, css wise, let me know. I'm willing to help where I can.
