The WordPress plugin repository corrupted our upload for version 1.4 last night. Download version 1.5 and install it. It should start working instantly.

    Hello,

i've just found this topic because i've got the same problem.
i installed the plugin via my wpmu dashboard (already running buddypress).
    everything is up-to-date.
all the files have been set with chmod 777.
it gives the "There were problems saving picture details." error on the site.
then i found this topic, downloaded the new files and replaced the files on my server with the new files.
still no change... it stille gives me the "There were problems saving picture details." error.

problem solved, i just realized that the WP installer somehow forgot the unpack the bp-album-core file.
for anyone having this problem, check if the file bp-album-core in the "includes" map, is bigger then 0 kb.
it should be around 22 kb.
without it you'll just keep on getting errors.

Delete the plugin folder and copy this version in its place.

I am getting a little different response.
    Version 1.6
I am running 2 wp installs: 1 on localhost (my computer)
    1 production setting @ http://carvingsforyou.com/wp/
On localhost, NO PROBLEM great album!

On production it installed with no indicated errors BUT,
when I go to the buddypress menu/album/upload pictures all it does is take me back to the home page. If I watch the status bar I see something about Viemo flash up before the "done" message.
I do not get any error message.
I checked permissions on my server database, set to All permissions.
I read all the previous post in this thread and deleted the bp-album folder and ftp'd the new folder in it's place.
    Nothing seems to help.
    Any Ideas, anyone?
If you would like to try it, go http://carvingsforyou.com/wp/
go ahead and register to create a user then login.
    BTW User defaults to subscriber.
ALSO I just discovered: localhost has a folder bp-events
I dont find anysuch folder on the production machine. Is this created on first use?

@jpittssr - I went over and had a look at your site. Based on what you've said, it sounds like you have several different problems on your production server that are interacting with each other.

First, check that the version of BP Album+ that you are running on your server says 0.1.6 in the admin screen. If it does not, delete the BP Album directory in the plugins folder, download 0.1.6 from the WP plugin server, and activate it , deactivate it, then re-activate it.

This fixes 99% of user problems 99% of the time.

If that doesn't work, try changing the name of the "stub" in the admin menu, and if you are manually configuring links in your template, *make sure you have the name of the link to BP Album+ correct*.

If you still can't get it working, then you have to go step by step and figure out "What is different between my dev server and my production server?" - because if you have BP Album+ working on your dev server, it is just some small setup difference that is preventing it from working on your production server.

    Thanks for the reply.
I had installed & un-installed so many things I thought I would start over.
I reinstalled WP, Buddypressm buddypress default theme.
I have the album working fine.
I found a theme I really like (cosmic Buddy)for the type site I want but I have one small problem . This theme has an option to change your avatar by uploading a picture then cropping and saving.
When I upload the file is going into the folder on the site but it does not show where you can crop it.
I know what the problem is I just can't find the code in any of the files.
I used firebug and found this line of code:
    <img alt="Avatar to crop" class="avatar" id="avatar-to-crop" src="wp-content/uploads/avatars/4/Toby-299x450.jpg">

Notice that there is not a / after the scr="
If I could find which file it was in I would be good to go.

    Excuse the long ramble.

I'm glad to hear that BP Album+ is working properly for you!

With regards to your other question, much of the HTML and CSS you see is generated by the BuddyPress PHP code. It's not stored in an actual file.

If you're having trouble with that, you should visit http://www.buddypress.org and go to the "Forums" section.

There are hundreds of people there that can help you.
