Plugin doesn't work - just get loading bar (17 posts)

    I installed the Brightcove plugin, and when I go to the media uploader and click on video, all I get is the little grey bar telling me that the page is loading, but nothing ever happens. I have this on a test site that is just using TwentyEleven and no other plugins. Has anyone else had this problem?

    I used this plugin on a project this morning with no problems. Did you input the three required settings in on the Brightcove Settings page?

    Yep, I entered in the required settings. As far as I know, I entered them in correctly, but I don't think there's really any way to tell if it's the wrong information. I used the same default player ID for single video and playlist - might that be my problem?

    Must admit I'm not sure whether that should work or not, but I have different settings for mine which I got from the embed code of one of the videos I was working with.

    That didn't do it. I changed the default players so that they don't have the same ID numbers, and that didn't make any difference. Any other suggestions?

    As the plugin is an official brightcove one, their own support should be able to help.

    I only get that problem if I put something other than a valid read token in the API Read Token box. A write token is not valid.

    If you try the API key you are using in this API test tool (try "find_all_videos") does it work?

    Morgan were you ever able to solve this issue? I believe that Mister-ben is correct regarding the read vs write token. If that is not the issue please contact me and I will help you sort through it.

    Thanks, brightcove! I haven't fixed the problem yet, but the project is on a back burner at the moment. In a week or two when I'm working on it again, I'll get in touch. Thanks!

    I guess I found my problem: I didn't enter in an API read key, because I currently have the $5 per month plan, and with that plan I don't have access to API keys. Do I understand correctly that I can't use this plugin without an API key?

    I am having the same issue as above, I tested my API Token with the tool posted above and I am able to get data from the API with that token.

    Anything else I may want to try?

    Ok figured this one out too .. seems that the source code was looking for a jQuery UI plugin which was not linked.

    I was getting a javascript error for $("#XXXX").tabs(...);

    I went to jQuery and downloaded the full compressed version (as I don't know what UI plugins are needed) replaced the included jQuery UI with my own and that fixed it.

    Morgan, you can use it but you get a more limited version of the plugin (one where you will need to input video and playlist id's manually)

    I've had the same issue, Eric seems to be getting the same issue I am but I have no idea what to do about that jQuery file, I tried placing it in places but nothing.

    cwfeldmann, can you give us a list of plugins or a link to your website? We are still trying to track down the issue and think it is a plugin conflict.

    Hello there

    I also have the same issue: Entered Pub ID# and the Player IDs. But when loading just get a grey bar that continues to spin.

    I had been using the WP Brightcove plug in. But this seems to have a bug in IE that lets you only display one video per page.

    The site / page is http://www.land-water.co.uk/contracting-services/cs-dredging

    We are using a number of other plug in.

    All thoughts welcome.
