[resolved] Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_get_groups_root_slug() (5 posts)

    Hi guys,

    After updating the plugin to the latest version, the Groups page does not show properly (groups do no display) and a Group Page is not showing up at all. Instead, a message displays:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_get_groups_root_slug() in /home/websitefolder/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bp-group-hierarchy/bp-group-hierarchy-filters.php on line 152

    Can you please help with what can it be?
    Is it possible to get it working in my version of BP (1.2.9)?

    (I have not updated BP yet because I expect a lot of things will need a fix after that..)

    Thanks heaps!
    Natalie

    BP 1.2 is no longer supported as of the current version (1.3.2). This was posted prominently on the plugin page and in the update notice. :)

    Having to keep testing two very different platforms was really slowing down development and, with BP 1.6 around the corner, it was time for BP 1.2 support to go. There's no easy way to make the current version work with BP 1.2, because most of the compatibility code was removed after 1.3.1.

    I have this problem no matter what I click on - all the support pages tell you to upgrade through the Dashboard page, but when I click on it I get exactly the same error message...so I can't upgrade...

    Am I missing something?

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_get_groups_root_slug() in /hermes/waloraweb075/b2431/moo.bridechattercom/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-toolbar/buddypress-toolbar.php on line 519

    This stays on the page no matter what I click on!

    Please help?

    Hi, JodiJoy -

    You should ask the Buddypress Toolbar developer(s) about that issue; it doesn't have anything to do with this plugin so there's not a lot I can do.

    @JodiJoy + @David Dean:
    Hi there!
    I am the developer of the plugin "BuddyPress Toolbar".
    It is only for BuddyPress 1.5+ and 1.6+ --- don't ever use it with BuddyPress 1.2 branch or anything... This is all clearly stated on the plugin page here on WP.org more than one time!

    @JodiJoy:
    What version of BuddyPress were you running before you did update something in your install? Can you remember this, would be very helpful for me. Thanks.

    To solve your issue: please log into your site via FTP, delete the whole folder "buddypress-toolbar" in /wp-content/plugins/

    After that, call your site domain.com/wp-admin/ again and try to log in. This should normally solve your problem.

    I will release a compatibility update in the next hours to add an additional check for functions like "bp_get_groups_root_slug()".

    Sorry for the trouble.

    -Dave :)
