• Hi

My theme, the “risen” theme by Steven Gliebe uses custom post types (risen_multimedia) for the multimedia/sermon posts and custom field (_risen_multimedia_audio_url) for the MP3 file. Unfortunately Powerpress doesn’t recognize the media in the custom field OR media directly placed in the Powerpress fields. When I validate the feed, except for opening and closing code, there is no media files represented. Is there a way around this? How can get get Powerpress to recognize media in the custom posts or fields?

PowerPress is not designed to iterate custom fields to find media. It uses the custom field name ‘enclosure’ same as WordPress does natively. Furthermore, PowerPress doesn’t seek out content, you need to tell it what the content is you wish to podcast.

You want to use the “Podcast Episode” box (image: http://s.wordpress.org/extend/plugins/powerpress/screenshot-1.png) enter the full URL to the media file in the “Media URL” field and click the ‘verify’ button. Verify does a few things besides set the appropriate media file in the custom fields. It also verifies the URL is well formed, detects the file size and the content duration time, all important data that iTunes needs.
