Plugin Blubrry Powerpress Facebook Fan Page Posting Issue (5 posts)

Hi! I'm been recently having a strange problem when I post the URL of a post on Facebook that has a Powerpress podcast. Basically what happens is instead of posting the post picture or a pic within the content of the post, Facebook automatically posts TWO links - one to the podcast, and one to the WordPress page. This wouldn't be a problem if the "detail" under the podcast link wasn't simply "Unknown-Unknown"...
Any ideas on how to fix this?

    when I paste this:
    http://fashiondilettante.com/2012/08/mac-daddy-john-stapleton/

    this happens:

[first link - to the podcast] ---> MAC Daddy John Stapleton
[unhelpful detail information on the link (why not the podcast name at least?)] -----> Unknown - Unknown
[second link - the page] ------> MAC Daddy John Stapleton
    fashiondilettante.com

you can see it here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fashion-Dilettante

    Thanks!

The link you included goes to a 404 page on Facebook.

What happens on facebook.com is outside of what PowerPress can control. Without seeing, I can only guess that the Unknown - Unknown was the result of Facebook looking at the meta data (id3 tags for an mp3) to know what to display about the media file, which is also outside of the control of PowerPress. I recommend using iTunes to write ID3 tags to your media. There's help on how to do this on podcastfaq.com.

thank you so much for this.
    the correct link is here:

the ID3 tags are edited in itunes. just so strange and frustrating.

That was only a guess, as I've seen "unknown - unknown" in my mp3 player when playing podcasts without ID3 tags.

Unfortunately this looks like an issue with Facebook. There's not much I can do to help you, it's not something under PowerPress's control.

The solution is most likely for PowerPress to have Facebook integrated into it so it can post the correct info to Facebook, but that's not something the plugin does currently.
