This blogroll plugin has no ill intentions. If it messed up your link categories, I am extremely sorry. If you could provide more information on what happened, I would like to try to resolve any problems and fix any bugs that there may be.
The plugin description clearly indicates what information is being accessed on your blog. Links in your blogroll are sent to our servers in order to track their new posts and relay the information back to your blog. This is hardly different from google, or any other search engine, crawling and indexing this publicly available information.
