Please help! I am using the latest version of Black Studio Tiny MCE Widget. It was working beautifully, but stopped, and nothing has changed on the site – no new plugins or updates.

Most of it is still working, but I cannot use the visual editor to add a text link. It won’t even bring up a dialog box to do so.

This is important as it is for a customer who knows no HTML.

I already tried un-installing and re-installing the plug in. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

    Hello weblady.
Do you have other editor-related plugins installed (i.e. Ultimate TinyMCE or Advanced TinyMCE)?
Are you sure you select a text/image before trying to add a link?

Yes, I have been selecting text/image to link, first.
Then I click on the chain icon and nothing happens. No dialog box.

IF I have TinyMCE or Advanced TinYMCE it does not show up as a plug in.
Is there somewhere else I can look in my settings?

BTW, we are using version: black-studio-tinymce-widget.0.9.zip:
    and WordPress 3.3.1

I would greatly appreciate your help – my customer really needs this for her widget articles!

Are you experiencing this issue only on the widgets editor, or even when editing a post/page?

Could you check if there’s some notifications in the javascript/error console of your browser?

Could you list the other plugins you have installed?

You have me on the right track, Marco.

It is NOT only the widgets editor. It is also the visual editor for the whole install, as well.

I was going to upgrade to 3.3.2, but the install failed!

“Some”notifications? A bunch! Using the Webster Theme. But no other problems noted, and none appear related to the editors.

It looks like this is not your problem, not your widget. Thanks anyway, and I am still open to suggestions if you have ideas!

Since the problem is not directly related to Black Studio Tiny MCE Widget I am going to mark this topic as resolved.

However here are some suggestions that may help you to troubleshoot the problem:
    1) Try to temporarily switch to another theme (i.e. Twenty Eleven)
    2) Try to selectively deactivate each plugin and re-test the editor link insertion
    3) Give a look to the javascript/error console of your browser when trying to insert a link

I created a website last night and added the Black Studio TinyMCE Widget. It was around 4am this morning when I stopped. For the three (3) widgets on the home page I added a FB link, which works and then just some txt knowing I would edit it later. However the three widgets will not open. I’ve read others blogs, I checked under my profile to make sure Disable the Visual Editor when Writing is NOT checked. Someone wrote they had to update their Theme. I updated WordPress and that did not work. I only have two Plugins that I added.

OK, I disabled all other widgets. Some came with WordPress. I only added Contact Form 7 and You Tube Subscribe widget. The problem is fixed. Maybe this will help someone else. These BLOGS work!!!
    Thank You, CBAkardi

    Hi cbakardi,
please start a new topic if you still need support, as this one is marked as resolved and it looks like your issue was not related to it.
