When renaming the wp-content directory all plugin and themes stop working.

I believe the problem is that the plugin should write some istructions in wp-config.php, but somehow this doesn't happen.

I tried changing permission to wp-config.php to 666 but nothing changes.

I tried on different websites on different hosts and I'm getting the same problem.

  2. It actually writes 2 lines to wp-config.php. Is your wp-config file in a non-standard location (site root or it's parent) or has it been significantly modified to remove standard content?

No, wp-config.php is in its standard location (root).

I tried this on two new installations (italian language) and I haven't changed anything.

    Ah ha!

I suspect the italian language is the issue. Do the files still have the line:

That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging?

    Yes, this is the line:

/* Finito, interrompere le modifiche! Buon blogging. */

Ah ha! Currently it looks for the english version. I'll look at updating that....

I replaced that line with the english one...
/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */
And now it works. Thank you :)

I've made some changes in the development version (http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/better-wp-security.zip) that should solve the problem. Frankly, as I've never installed anything but english I wrongly assumed the code comments were in english in all installations. If you have a test site could you please test it?

    Tested, it works.

    Thank you
