• Good day,

I have WordPress installed on my site in a subfolder (wp to be exact).

My WordPress .htaccess sits above this, in the root folder. The root folder contains my index.php file, which refers to the subfolder.

However, when I update WP Better Security, it’s updating the .htaccess file in the wp subfolder, which doesn’t really do any good.

Any way to point wp security to the root .htaccess file?

    RY

  • The script uses the WordPress paths to find .htaccess so it should only look at the root of the WordPress folder. This is by design and I’m afraid changing that would break it for a lot of people. Can you manually add the rules to the file you need?
