How big is your database? Sounds like you’re having RAM or timeout errors.

I have my own backup. BackWPUP.
But I tried BetWPSec at least for the backup. DB is 70 MB. But files were 650 MB due to another issues, which is solved now. Now files are 130 MB. Do you backup files, too, ?
I could try again now…. but do you display how far the backup is ?
It doesn’t backup files, just the database. It is also a rather unsophisticated backup script which I can see causing 2 issues… one ram, two limitations on attachment size.
Let me see if I can’t tune it a little for your situation.

No issue. You can’t do everything with your plugin. Just a simple backup for people who have never done a backup that’s enough.
There are specialists on backups.
True, but if the backup fails initially it won’t build confidence later 😉 I don’t need to make it very sophisticated, I just need to make sure that if it fails it does so in a more elegant fashion.
