[Plugin: Better WP Security] Am I being targeted by hackers? :( (4 posts)

Today I woke up to an email notification telling me an IP has been locked out of my WordPress(akemi-mokoto.me) due to too many attempts to open a file that does not exist. So far I have gotten 4-5 of these today. Am I being targeted by log-in hackers or is this likely an error some visitors are having to deal with?

If this is a hacking attempt, how can I make it so nobody can get to the log-in page thing?

If this is a mistake, how can I fix it?Today I woke up to an email notification telling me an IP has been locked out of my WordPress(akemi-mokoto.me) due to too many attempts to open a file that does not exist. PS: Each email I get has a different IP in them. But they are spread across the globe and all some from major cities. I suspect proxis covering the actual IP of the hacker/hackers, if this is an attempted attack.

This was likely a hacking attempt.

I use CloudFlare, and if you look, there are spam and botnet attacks ALL the time. It's very common.

There are many ways you can deal with it (blacklist their IP, add another layer of security like CloudFlare, etc).

    Cheers,

My site has been using cloudflare(security level: HIGH) since it moved to wordpress 14 days ago. The lockout things didn't start until a few days ago. But it does not matter now because I've removed Better Security due to OTHER issues(as posted in my other forum post)

  4. Cloudflare and the lockout features of BWPS don't play nice together as BWPS will see only Cloudflare and not any of the actual users (resulting in everyone being locked out).
