    I thought I’d post this link to a thread on another WordPress Forum because it solved an issue I just experienced with Basic Google Maps Placemarks and I thought the answer might help someone else down the track.

    It was a puzzling error message being thrown by the Google Map API Server because it only happened when I wasn’t logged in – if I was logged in everything worked as expected so I wasn’t aware there was an issue until a site visitor pointed it out to me. To resolve the issue, all it took was unticking the two conflicting options in the Better WordPress Security plug-in (“Filter suspicious query strings” and “Display random version number…”).
